A microphoto competition among school students continues and brings interesting pre-final results . The competition is called "From infusorium to the atom" and is devoted to scientific research wotk combined with creativity.

 

The geography of competition is vast. Not only students from St. Petersburg and Moscow, but also such cities as Belgorod, Novosibirsk, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Ivanovo, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Penza, Taganrog, Ulyanovsk, Cheboksary, Stavropol and other cities of Russia are taking part. We have received application from Simferopol (Ukrane)! And it's interesting that a significant percentage of requests were received from rural schools and students from the villages and small-towns.

 

Subjects and topics of the contest-works presented in the qualifying round, had a wide range: study of  blood, the structure of the spiderweb, the albino mouse, plasmolysis, chemical reactions, insects and microorganisms, flowers, mold, water, dust, crystals, reptiles, etc. - That showed a keen interest of children across Russia to a variety of expressions and processes of the world. Now the second stage of the competition has started, and the 10 selected finalists shall receive individual assignments and work on them under the guidance of the scientific team of ATC.
